HOPE » Devlog
I have been working on this game *fully* since April of this year, the idea of this game came about 1-2 years ago, but I never seriously worked on this project...
ANYWAY!! This is the progress so far this week!!!!!
- A lot of people commented about the trees looking plastic (On the right.), and it was bugging me a lot so I decided to change their design a little bit. Now (On the left.) it looks less plasticky, and looks a lot more like pine trees or spruce trees which is what I intended them to look like in the first place. Re-covered the map with the new trees, and imported it all back to Godot.
- Today, I wanted to add footstep sounds so when Hope is walking you can hear it instead of just starring at moving pixels lol. Since there isn't any music for the game yet, I decided to just get some free footsteps in snow sound effects and imported it into the code, it took a bit to figure out but it worked in the end. I hope I can learn more about making music so I can tackle that part of the game soon, but it's all alright for now!
- I also noticed that the characters blend in into the structures and colors which was something I wanted to tweak for a while, so I made the outlines pop more rather than blend, updated the assets and that's it for now!
- And I could also mention that I set up this itch.io page for the game! :]
